From the Principal - Catherine Lockhart This week, students and staff across the College have embraced the spirit of Book Week, with dress-up days in the Senior School on Monday and the Junior School today. It has been a delight to see the creativity and enthusiasm on display as our community celebrated favourite books and characters. Events such as these remind us that reading has the power not only to educate, but also to spark imagination, encourage empathy and bring people together…

From the Principal - Catherine Lockhart Over the last few weeks, I have had the pleasure of interviewing current Year 11 students who have applied for the position of College Captain for 2027. This is always a highlight of the year as I get to spend time hearing from very impressive young people who have a genuine interest in helping to make our College, and indeed our world, a better place. Every student has their own individual story to tell and the wide array of activities, opportunities,…

From the Principal - Catherine Lockhart You may recall from one of my previous eNews articles I wrote about a former student of mine Kurtis Marshall an Australian Pole Vaulter. I am delighted to provide an update where Kurtis has just won gold at the Commonwealth Games for the third time. To have known him as a young student starting out in his chosen sport it is so exciting to see him literally flying high and being such a great ambassador for his sport and our country. It just goes to show…

We were there to celebrate the amazing efforts of one of our alumni, Callum McNeill, who received a Premier’s VCE Award in recognition of academic excellence in Information and Communications Technology (VCE VET) in last year's VCE. These awards are presented to only the very top students in each area of study.…

It was lovely to meet with some of our parents at our welcome to term catch up at Centrepoint on Tuesday and to welcome some new parents to the KIC community. Thank you to the College Community Council for organising the event. I had the privilege of travelling to Canada over the holidays. Travel is…

From the Principal - Catherine Lockhart Just this week I was absolutely delighted to see that one of my former students from my previous school in Adelaide had achieved a significant personal feat. Kurtis Marschall is an Australian Pole Vaulter who has won Gold at two Commonwealth Games, and Bronze in two World Championships. Just this week Kurtis pulled off one of the sporting upsets of the year by beating the Pole Vault king Armand Duplantis at a Diamond League meeting in Stockholm. It was…
