Kardinia eNews – Thursday 3 March 2022

Home Kardinia eNews – Thursday 3 March 2022

From the Principal

Mr and Mrs Katsumata were looking down upon us yesterday for our Founders’ Day celebrations at Adventure Park.  While many parts of the east coast of Australia were lashed with rain, we enjoyed the perfect weather to celebrate as a school the joy and passion that inspired the foundation of Kardinia International College.

It was wonderful to see so many students, staff and our volunteers enjoying each other’s company and having a great time at Adventure Park.  The day was a welcome panacea to the last few years of cancelled activities and uncertainty. A huge thank you on behalf of the whole school to all the organisers and volunteers on the day.

From the Head of Junior School

Founders’ Day
Yesterday was a wonderful day at Adventure Park to celebrate Founders’ Day. The weather was perfect, and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to have fun with one another. My favourite moment of the day was going on the roller coaster with Arlo in K4.

Let’s Celebrate Dr. Seuss
Next week the Junior School will be celebrating Dr. Seuss by having a crazy hat or sock day, as well as some fun lunch time activities in the Inquiry Centre.

Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent Teacher Interviews in the Junior School will be held on Friday 1 April. This is a student free day while teachers conduct online interviews with parents. Information on how to book a time will be shared with families soon. Please also note that Tuesday 5 April is an early dismissal across the College. Students in Kindergarten will be dismissed at 12.45pm, while students in FY-Y12 will finish at 12.50pm. Buses will run as normal but will depart at 1.00pm and 1.05pm on this day.

New Lower Primary Building
Each day sees more progress in our wonderful new Lower Primary building. This week we have seen part of the roof and insulation installed, wires going in, retainer walls built and more steelwork added.

Founder’s Day

Yesterday we celebrated Founder’s Day! The whole school headed down to Adventure Park to celebrate the College and its’ founders, the Katsumata Family.

School TV – Youth Anxiety

Anxiety disorders can start early in childhood or adolescence. It may only have a moderate impact on a child’s ability to function in daily life and can therefore often remain undetected. If a child finds it extremely difficult to control their anxiety, then you should seek help or medical assistance.
