Congratulations to our Year 12 VCE students for their results

17/12/2021Chelsea Hart

Our Principal, Catherine Lockhart, would like to congratulate our 174 Year 12 VCE students for officially completing their studies and receiving their results.

More than 11.4 percent of VCE students received an ATAR above 95, 22.4 percent received an ATAR above 90, with 48.2 percent receiving an ATAR above 80.

We also congratulate our highest achievers all receiving ATAR scores above 99, Nayoun Chung (pictured) who achieved the College’s top VCE score, receiving an ATAR of 99.65, Louis Fevrier, receiving an ATAR of 99.6, Rui Xue (Rachel) Zhou, receiving an ATAR of 99.5, Syun-Yun (Fiona) Lo, receiving an ATAR of 99.3, Kayla Thomas, receiving an ATAR of 99.2 and Hong Anh (Louise) Pham, receiving an ATAR of 99.05.

Overall, our VCE students achieved a median ATAR score of 79.4. Students also achieved seven perfect study scores of 50, in Biology, French, Further Mathematics, Health and Human Development and PE.

Congratulations to Year 11 student and 2022 School Captain, Jesse McDougall achieving perfect scores in Biology, French and PE, our VCE Dux Nayoun Chung achieving a perfect score of 50 for Further Mathematics, Rory Clark achieving a perfect score of 50 for Systems Engineering, Year 11 student Angus Skeen a perfect score of 50 in Biology and Kayla Thomas a perfect score of 50 for Health and Human Development.

Our Year 12 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results will be released on Monday 3 January 2022 providing the full picture of the academic performance of the Class of 2021, when we combine our IB Diploma and VCE results at that time.

We had a further 148 Year 11 students completing either one or two sequences of VCE Unit 3/4 studies and two Year 10 students completing one sequence of a VCE Unit 3/4 study.

Beyond the wonderful academic results of our VCE students, we would like to also highlight the achievements of students that have wholeheartedly embodied our vision of acting as agents of positive and sustainable change and have displayed outstanding contributions to the College.

Our Social Justice Committee believe in taking action to make a difference, to help people in our community, nationally and internationally. The students coordinate and action projects that aim to benefit the lives of those marginalised or disadvantaged and have raised an incredible $54,038 this year towards initiatives such as MS Readathon, St Vincent’s CEO Sleepout and World’s Greatest Shave.

As well as their wonderful fundraising efforts, the students of Kardinia have completed approximately 840 hours of community service throughout the year, demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility and contributing to a more inclusive, respectful, peaceful and sustainable world.

We have an incredible 209 students who speak languages other than English within the College, as well as 1186 students learning a second language, furthering diversity and international mindedness within our community.

In an admirable display of rigour and perseverance, the internationally recognised Duke of Edinburgh Award has been achieved at a Gold level by five students this year. These students have completed a minimum of 12 months of voluntary service, physical recreation, skills development, team adventurous journeys and intensive projects.

The College also had a total of 514 participants across school sports throughout the year, developing their leadership and teamwork skills while representing the College at numerous events.

We sincerely thank the many teachers, families and friends who encouraged and supported our students throughout their studies this year. It is a time to celebrate the achievements of our students.

Graphic design and sourcing professional help can make the difference when putting together outward facing materials. While there are many programs and web apps that can make things “appear professional” paying someone who knows industry software will make it allot of difference and give you peace of mind when promoting your brand.
