Kudos to our brave alumna, Dr Stephanie Yacoub

11/09/2020Sarah Milford

Kudos to our very brave alumna and obstetrics and gynaecology resident, Dr Stephanie Yacoub (Class of 2008). Stephanie gained international attention, delivering babies during the chemical explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, as recently featured on Channel 10’s The Project and in the Geelong Advertiser. Dr Stephanie Yacoub (Class of 2008) was featured on The Project, after safely delivering a baby in the midst of the Beirut explosion. https://www.facebook.com/TheProjectTV/videos/293552315203907

Stephanie said of her experience, I chose to be an OBGYN because I wanted to bring babies into the world safely. I can do that, but unfortunately, I can not guarantee that the world is a safe one.
“2020 keeps on teaching us that it’s your loved ones that count. My first thought was to hear the baby’s heart beat and make sure that everyone was okay. And then the horrible suspense of waiting for your loved ones to answer the phone and let you know that they’re alive and calling your parents to let them know that you’re unharmed.”
“Thank you to everyone who called me and my parents to check on me.”
“Lebanon, my heart breaks for you. It’s shattered on the hospital floor. I am praying for everyone. Now is a time for us all to stand together for one another.”

Website Design and Development

Graphic design and sourcing professional help can make the difference when putting together outward facing materials. While there are many programs and web apps that can make things “appear professional” paying someone who knows industry software will make it allot of difference and give you peace of mind when promoting your brand.
