Kardinia students attend Global Goals Youth Forum

20/03/2017Sarah Milford

The Asia Education Foundation at the University of Melbourne hosted 12 students from Kardinia’s Council for Global Representation (CGR). The student-led Council was established early this year.

The CGR aims to lead the College in recognising and further developing the College’s stance as an internationally minded school — one of the key foundations of the College and the basis for the College’s Second Cornerstone.

The event, held at the Sidney Myer Asia Centre invited speakers, which included University of Melbourne’s Asialink director Erin-Watson Lynn, who won the Australian Government’s ’PolicyHack’ for her DICE Kids program, Siamik Sam Loni from the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and Julien Leyre from the Marco Polo Project.

Students from various schools around Victoria were grouped together to focus on a Global Goal that interested them, and collaborated to come up with a “Big Idea”, following the Design Thinking process, to realise the specific Global Goal before 2030.

Kardinia International College would  like to thank the Asia Education Foundation for their hospitality and organisation.

The CGR is excited to be presenting their ideas to the Kardinia community through KICOnline and at various events in the following weeks. Stay tuned!

Graphic design and sourcing professional help can make the difference when putting together outward facing materials. While there are many programs and web apps that can make things “appear professional” paying someone who knows industry software will make it allot of difference and give you peace of mind when promoting your brand.
